Gucci Mane announces that he will be releasing his ‘Trap God 2′ mixtape later this year.

During 2012 Gucci Mane released what many consider to be his best work in quite some time with‘Trap God.’ The mixtape was well received by fans for the most part, but became overshadowed by the constant rap beefs that Gucci Mane engaged in.

The Atlanta rap veteran ended up refueling the long standing beef between himself and Young Jeezy, and even going at friends including Yo Gotti, who ended up returning the favor with a diss track of his own called ‘Have Mercy.’

With plans of releasing 10 albums this year, Gucci Mane will be starting things off with Trap God 2. The rapper took to his Twitter account today to release a new track featuring Big Bank Black and OG Boo Dirty called Squad Car, letting fans know that the ‘Trap God 2′ mixtape would be “coming soon.”

Chief Keef takes to Twitter announcing his plans to release a new mixtape titled ‘Bang Pt. 2.’

2012 was certainly a breakthrough year for Chicago rapper Chief Keef.  After signing to Interscope Records, the young spitter got a chance to shine on the mainstream scene with his debut album dubbed ‘Finally Rich.’

The album opened up to relatively decent numbers considering all of the negative publicity surrounding Keef, selling around 50,000 copies in its first week. Although the numbers were a bit lower than many would have expected from a major label debut, Chief Keef was continuously making media headlines for all the wrong reasons, which more than likely ended up hurting him in the long run.

It looks like the GBE rep shows no signs of slowing down though as he takes to Twitter announcing the release of a new mixtape dubbed ‘Bang Pt. 2.’ Chief Keef also unveiled the official cover art, but has yet to give the project a release date. The mixtape will be hosted by both DJ Holiday and Mike Epps when it drops.

Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz release the full version of their highly anticipated single ‘Rich As Fuck.’

Just a few weeks ago we announced that Lil Wayne would be enlisting the services of 2 Chainz for the lead track off his upcoming album dubbed ‘Rich As Fuck,’ and today the two rappers deliver the finished product.

Weezy is working hard to find a buzzing single to help build hype for the upcoming ‘I Am Not Human Being II’ album, and drops this single off only a few days after releasing the Future and Drake assisted Good Kush & Alcohol single.

The single sees Lil Wayne on each of the verses while 2 Chainz handles the duties on the chorus. Expect Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being II to release next month on February 19th.

It looks like Tupac Shakur reigns supreme in the U.K. prison system, as the deceased west rap legend is the most listened to artist among U.K. prison inmates.

It’s no secret that even nearly 17 years after his death, 2Pac remains one of the most popular artists in the rap game. In fact the team at The Mirror reports that Tupac is actually the most popular artist among prisoners in the United Kingdom jails.

With 84,000 inmates in all, 4,000 of them request certain songs from the NPR broadcast, and Tupac tops this list above Vybz Kartel and K Koke. Rihanna isn’t far behind, and happens to be the only solo female artist on the entire list of 20.

It looks like Drake sent an apology text to Vanessa and Kobe Bryant regarding his lyrics on ‘Stay Schemin.’

Young Money rapper Drake caused quite a bit of commotion when he spit some lines aimed at Vanessa Bryant on the Rick Ross and French Montana track ‘Stay Schemin.’

“Kobe ’bout to lose a hundred fifty M’s, Kobe my n*gga I hate it had to be him, B*tch you wasn’t with me shooting in the gym (B*tch you wasn’t with me shooting in the gym),” Drake rapped over the track.

Now Vanessa Bryant has broken her silence on the matter after an apology text was received from Drake. Mrs. Bryant also went on to state that Kobe and Drake are not friends, so the text was forwarded to them through mutual business associates.

“I love when immature kids quote a rapper that has never been friends with Kobe and knows nothing about our relationship,” she wrote. “Just shows how gullible they are. I don’t need to be in the gym. I’m raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life. But thanks for your concern over an immature quote.

I really wish people would stop THINK and then realize that they are being sucked into someone’s clear intention to monetize and gain attention off of our family’s heartache. This is real life. I hold down our home life so my husband can focus on his career. It’s a partnership.

Since my husband isn’t friends with Drake, we received a text of an apology forwarded from his manager. It’s done and over with and it’s now time for people to THINK before speaking.”

Ne-Yo may have just  released his fifth studio album ‘R.E.D.’ in November 2012, but he’s ready to leave his mark on 2013 and hopes that he can influence the sound of the new year. The hitmaker explained that he wants to slow things down a bit this year and help push R&B.

Ne-Yo explained his expectations for 2013 and indicated that he might put out some slow jams over the course of the year. “You know what? R&B music. Y’all remember slow jams? I want R&B to make a comeback in 2013 and I’m gonna try and have something to do with that,” Ne-Yo told MTV.

Ne-Yo’s focus on slower tunes could have a huge impact given that his last three albums have all managed to debut in the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and represent a slight departure from ‘R.E.D.’ which included elements of dance and pop.

Ne-Yo isn’t the only R&B star to suggest a return to fundamentals after Trey Songz explained that the success of his ‘Chapter V’ was largely due to his focus on “real R&B.”

With just weeks until the official release of A$AP Rocky’s studio debut album, the Harlem rep tells fans that he’s looking to create the “best fucking record ever” with ‘Long Live A$AP.’

Since releasing his ‘Live Love A$AP’ mixtape in 2011, A$AP Rocky fans have been begging Pretty Flacko for his debut studio album, and come January 15th we will finally be able to get our hands on the finished product.

A$AP Rocky recently sat down with the folks at NME to talk about the project, and explained that he really poured everything he had into the album.

“Just to put out the best fucking record ever. I think I’ve done that so maybe I need another one. I like creative control. I’m passionate about shit, y’know. I like it to be just how I want it.”

The project has been hit with delay after delay, and A$AP Rocky states that getting all of the details polished is the reasoning behind Long Live A$AP’s constant delays.

” The issue with my album is I got things on it that’s so out of this world that it’s taking so long to get mastered. That’s the issue, and I refuse to take anything off. It’s complete, everything is being mastered and cleared right now. It’s just so hard to get things cleared, because you got to find people to clear samples.”

Kirko Bangz is holding on to his best music yet for his upcoming debut album and indicated that it will drop some time this year. Bangz also offered some insight into what the album could sound like and compared the record to previous work.

Bangz explained that the album will offer fans more insight into his life than music he’s put out in the past. “Ah, man, I’ma give people what they always get with Kirko Bangz. I have records like ‘Keep It Trill,’ ‘Drank in My Cup,’ and then also have records like I had on my mixtape like ‘The Vent,’ reflecting on my life. It’s gonna be a lot deeper than people have heard from me in the past. I feel like the album is really just time for me to tell my story and let people know who I really am. So really it’s mixing all those elements in with the H-Town element as well, and seeing where it goes,” Bangz told XXL.

Bangz is holding on to the best music that he recorded while working on mixtapes for the project. “Yeah. A lot of my real deep records, real quality records, I’ve been holding ’em for the album. All the time that I had mixtapes, I had one or two big, quality records, and the rest was mixtape stuff. But I’m holding those records, so when the album come, everybody be like, He really is a artist. I just put out radio singles here and there,” said Bangz.

Bangz hasn’t figured out exactly when he wants to release the album, but he does expect it to be finished soon. “Me, I don’t really know. I’m just working. But sometime in the top of 2013,” said Bangz.
